This tool will help you alternate letters in all words to produce the best possible results with Muno. As you know in words with double letters you should hold down shift key on one of them to get a slightly different letter. For example, “foOd”, not “food” and “peEl” not “peel”. This mimics the way there is slight variation in actual handwriting.

It is July 2018 and the year has been great. We have created so many new tools but are still hearing about the first one, munogrifier, and how it has become a staple for so many Zingernauts in their day to day. It has helped ensure our muno is looking the best it can and people have noticed. The font is mistaken for images and actual writing because the variability in letters is so apparent. The tool makes it so easy to use too that people go there first even on simple words that they may have alternated case on before.

guide to GOoD mUnO foNT usagE

GoOd

  1. Do use muno extra bold for headlines.
  2. Do use muno bold for subheads.
  3. When you have a word with double letters, hold down the shift key when typing one of them.
    Muno fonts don't have any capitol letters except for "L" which is always capital. So when you hold down the shift you will get a slightly different letter.

  1. Don't use muno bold or muno extra bold for body copy.
  2. Don't use muno bold or muno extra bold in an email or in an e-news mailing. The people viewing the document probably don't have the font installed on their computer. Do use the default font on your computer for electronic correspondence.
  3. Don't send muno bold or muno extra bold to all your friends.
    We cannot copyright a font, so keep it within the ZCoB.

alL About mUnO

Muno, created by Steve Wallag-Muno is the distinct and signature part of Zingerman's look and feel. Although it is limited to internal use, it is meant to be used by all Zingernauts. To make it easier to use a font was created by Ian Nagy to use it digitally in documents and on the web. These are the keys to Muno.

  • The traditional method is to use lower case at all times (starting sentences, countries, names, etc.
  • Pay extra attention to the letters "a" "g" "t" "y" and "L" (always uppercase)
  • Try to write the letters a, b, d, h, m, n, r, u and y with one continuous stroke, no ttaking your writing utensil off the paper
  • Muno Bold should be written with all the letters in a word or sentence held together in the center, not along the bottom like most fonts are. Try to fit the letters together like puzzle pieces.
